Came across these little gems the other day and had to share.
Love the huge circular shapes and minimal features of this eyewear by Hans Hollein.
The only way to beat the cold and snow is to head to a museum for an afternoon of culture.
We’ve checked out quite a few local galleries during our time in amsterdam but this was our first visit to the newly refurbished modern art museum, Stedelijk, or as we like to call it the bath tub! (thanks to it’s cool design). In fact the architecture is really beautifully done combining the modern new extension with the original external walls of the old museum still clearly featured inside.
Modern art can sometimes throw us into unknown territory where it’s kind of hard to really appreciate what the artist’s intentions were but there’s lots of great inspiration to be had here!
Here are a few of our favourites, mainly the contemporary furniture classics and the vintage pre/post war posters, enjoy our sneak preview!
Well worth a trip if your in these parts . . . .
Although this isn’t our most recent press coverage, it is one we are very proud of. Fan Optics in the December issue of Wallpaper* Magazine. We are big fans of this publication which brings together fashion, culture, design and modern craftsmanship.
Some great words said about our brand and we love the set design of this feature.
Thanks Wallpaper*

Representing team Denham and Designbridge Amsterdam we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Pirate Amsterdam a few weeks ago. These celebrations took the form of a Pirate Canal Bike Battle (a peddlow race for short). We joined 25+ other teams from Amsterdam design agencies to fashion companies in an all out race. Team designbridge was not so fortunate coming way down the filed but team Denham did us proud! We have to thank Pirate for putting on a great celebration! The rum was excellent!
All photos and further information can be found on the Pirate website here, but below are a selection from the evening.
Handmade craftsmanship for another field – Inspiring!

“Tortoise styles are looking so beautiful for the new season and they are plentiful. For classic, this easy retro shape from new label Fan Optics – model Brock, is refined and not too heavy, a lovely accessory for the start of the season. Choose from dark tortoiseshell with elegant yellow highlights, or a green blue tortoise that is more like a marbled effect in the acetate.”
Eyestylist is a fantastic website and blog for all you eyewear news so we strongly recommend readers to have a look!
